The Ramazzotti/Havana Club On-Pack Promotion was awarded 1st place in the “Sales Promotional Packaging” performance group. The environmentally friendly solution made of fine corrugation replaces the previous plastic construction used to securely attach the promotional glass to the respective bottle for the On-Pack Promotion 2020. In addition to the sustainability aspect, the new corrugated cardboard solution also offers the advantage of individual, brand-appropriate printing.
“The challenge was to find a good triad between stability, a firm connection to the bottle and visually appealing placement with good visibility to the glass, as well as the possibility to test the feel of the glass,” explains Sebastian Weber, responsible Key Account Manager Gissler & Pass.

The sustainable Dalli washing powder packaging also scored points: in the “Transport Packaging” category, Gissler & Pass took 3rd place. The sustainable packaging concept convinces by substituting the plastic carrying handle as well as the plastic tear-off thread with solutions made of corrugated board. The packaging is thus 96% plastic-free. In addition, the elimination of any non-paper materials also improves logistical processes and makes handling easier for consumers.

The VDW e.V. also had to break new ground for the Corrugated Board Innovation Award due to the pandemic and held the competition purely virtually for the first time. Contest participants submitted short, concise videos of their exhibits, and the jury meeting and judging took place online.
