Zanko Rahimi

I applied to GP with my 10A secondary school certificate.

I worked at GP for the first time in 2014 through a recruitment company, and I was amazed at how corrugated board is manufactured and processed. I was keen to find out & know more, so I decided to apply for an apprenticeship at GP.

The great thing about this versatile occupation is the practical, independent and self-responsible work, directly on and with the product. Each evening after work, you know what you have done for the company. And personally, I find it good that you get to work on all the different machines during your apprenticeship, allowing you to discover your favourite tasks during your apprenticeship. I, for one, find working on the punch press very enjoyable.

Enjoyment of technology, punctuality, forward thinking, initiative, ability to work in a team, critical thinking skills and spatial awareness.

Gissler & Pass assists its apprentices wherever possible: whether at work itself or at school. That includes the “AbH”, for example, (apprenticeship assistance scheme), where we apprentices are able to learn for school. Each Friday, the apprentices meet with their instructors to have the report books signed and can ask questions that may have arisen either at work or school

I would like to have my own shift, be a good machine operator and learn even more about my occupation.

PACKAGING TECHNOLOGIST (m/f/d)

The apprenticeship as a packaging technologist (m/f/d) offers a wide range of opportunities for personal development and employment. From the computer-aided development and design of packaging, to working in production planning or quality assurance, through to the operation of highly complex production plants, many areas of work are available, depending on an individual’s creative and technical skills.

On the basis of their apprenticeship, packaging technologists (m/f/d) can work as skilled workers in many different areas of the packaging industry. Building on this, you can train as a master craftsman (m/f/d) or become a paper technician (m/f/d) by attending technical college. After gaining the advanced technical college entrance qualification, it is possible to study at a university of applied sciences, and to become a graduate engineer in packaging technology, for example.

Technical secondary school leaving certificate (school year 10, type A) or qualification for admission to technical college (completion of secondary school, technical secondary school year 10B, academic secondary school year 10 or vocational college).

If possible, apply by the end of March for your apprenticeship to start on 1st August.

Your application documents should include the application itself, your curriculum vitae, copies of your certificates and a photograph.

Tobias Gonschorek

I gained the FOR (qualification for admission to technical college), before completing an apprenticeship in business and applying for an apprenticeship at GP.

I chose the occupation of machine/plant operator because I wanted to work independently together with my colleagues.

One of my favourite tasks is the maintenance and verification of quality standards.

Being able to understand technical processes and procedures is an advantage.

I would choose GP every time, because this company is a “family business” in every sense of those words and in every department.

I see my future at GP, I want to develop my career further in the company and hold a management position here in the future.

I successfully completed secondary school.

The occupation of media technologist appealed to me because it is very varied and multifaceted.

I enjoy the work on the printing press and in the colour laboratory the most.

You should be willing to learn multi-tasking skills, interested in technical processes, and have a good eye.

GISSLER & PASS is a very friendly and solid company. You can count on receiving support at every level.

When I have completed my apprenticeship and gained enough work experience, I want to become a master craftsman.

Kathrin Pörner

I have a technical high school diploma.

It is the highest level of commercial training and offers a lot of variety.

What I find particularly interesting about my apprenticeship is that you gain experience working in several different departments.

You need be able to communicate and should be outgoing. You have to like working on a computer.

Through my internship and my temporary jobs before my apprenticeship at GP, I gained a very good insight into the company and the work. The employees were friendly and helpful right from the start, it is a very harmonious working atmosphere.

I would like to pass on my knowledge by supervising the apprentices in the department in which I work. I can also imagine running a department myself.
